AWS GovCloud Installation Scenarios

On this page you will find documentation that will walk you through the process of installing and setting up DynaCenter so that you can migrate servers into your AWS GovCloud environment. Choose the installation scenario that applies to your Amazon environment.

Installation Scenario 1

You are migrating servers into an Amazon VPC subnet in the AWS GovCloud (US) region that has access to the DynaCenter Management Workstation (MWS), the DynaCenter depots, and a RedHat/CentOS yum repository (if migrating Linux-based servers), and that has private connectivity to your datacenter through AWS Direct Connect or a VPN. DynaCenter is installed on an MWS that is located on a subnet that can be accessed from the destination subnet where migrated servers will reside, such as a dedicated tools subnet or the destination subnet itself. In this scenario the storage required for migration and sync operations is located on the MWS.

DynaCenter Installation (Required)

DynaCenter Console Installation (Optional)

Installation Scenario 2

You are migrating servers into an Amazon VPC subnet in the AWS GovCloud (US) region that does not have access to the DynaCenter Management Workstation (MWS), the DynaCenter depots, or a RedHat/CentOS yum repository (if migrating Linux-based servers), but that has private connectivity to your datacenter through AWS Direct Connect or a VPN. This scenario requires a dedicated deploy subnet that allows access to the MWS, the depots, and a RedHat/CentOS yum repository for migration operations. If you are migrating multiple images, consider adding a deploy subnet to your VPC environment; if you are migrating only a few images, DynaCenter can create a temporary deploy subnet for the duration of the migration. In this scenario the storage required for migration and sync operations is located on the MWS.
