New Features and Enhancements

Quiesce Services on Source and Target Servers Before Syncing

DynaCenter now allows you to pause applications and processes that operate on volatile data before you initiate a sync operation to ensure file and application consistency.

Automatic Server Size Selection When Deploying and Migrating Servers

When deploying to Amazon or SoftLayer environments, DynaCenter can automatically select the appropriate server size for the target server based on the CPU and RAM information in the image captured from the source server.

Additional SoftLayer Datacenter Support

DynaCenter now supports migrations to the SoftLayer Amsterdam (AMS03), Dallas (DAL09), Frankfurt (FRA02), Queretaro (MEX01), Milan (MIL01), Montreal (MON01), Sydney (SYD01), and Tokyo (TOK02) datacenters.

Bug Fixes

Reliability Improvements for Data Syncing

Enhancements to the DynaCenter Sync feature provide improved reliability and performance for delta data syncing. These enhancement include, but are not limited to, better handling of very large files, improved handling of large numbers of files, better support for long directory and long file names, and a reduced memory footprint during sync operations.

Capture and Deploy Operations No Longer Fail if DPAD Log Rolls Over

Fixed an issue that could, under very specific circumstances, cause a capture or deploy operation to fail if the dpad log rolled over while the capture or deploy task was running.

Capture Operations No Longer Fail when Files Change During Capture Operation

Fixed an issue where, under very specific circumstances, the capture operation would not complete successfully if a file on the source server changed while DynaCenter was capturing and archiving the file.

Capture Operations No Longer Fail when Server Contains Long File or Long Path Names

Fixed an issue where, under very specific circumstances, the capture operation would not complete successfully if the source server contained files or directories with long path names (greater than 256 characters).

Windows SoftLayer Deploy Operations more Robust

Fixed an issue where, under very specific circumstances, connection issues would cause deploys of images located in SoftLayer Object Storage to not complete successfully.

Windows Images that Contain Non-ASCII Characters in the Security and Audit Metadata File Now Deploy Successfully

Fixed an issue where, under very specific conditions, DynaCenter could not successfully deploy an image if the metadata file containing file security and audit information for the image contained non-ASCII characters in any path.

Oracle Enterprise Linux 6.x Images Now Deploy to Amazon

Fixed an issue where DynaCenter could not identify the Amazon instance needed to deploy Oracle Enterprise Linux 6.x images to Amazon environments.

SoftLayer Deploys No Longer Fail Due to Component Installation Issue

Fixed an issue where, under very specific conditions, deploys to SoftLayer would not complete successfully because DynaCenter would attempt to install a component that had already been installed.
